My Captain

Climbing to endless heights

My plane suddenly rolls and catches fire

My Engines are flaming, and fuel ignites

My Jet has become a living pyre

I hear my passengers scream in fear

My rudder jams and stabilizer snaps

Looks like an inverted chandelier

This wonder is now a death trap

The screams and wails pierce my ears

Cannot recover from a dive or stay upright

Plunging in the tumultuous sea appears

The only way to end this plight

All around me are sacred waters

I cross myself ready for the plunge

Will leave behind grieving sons and daughters

As My Jet makes her final lunge

Into the water and breaks apart

I hear the screams no longer

A piece of metal pierced my heart

I pray, O’ Lord make me stronger

To end the suffering of these souls

That was my only act of mercy

Over which I have the control

I know it will cause controversy

Was that suicide or a selfless act

Have I delivered them from consuming flames

I am sure of my sacrifice, a fact

When I hear someone call my name

It was my nightmare, my greatest fear

To lose my battle without a choice

When I fly again, I will revere

The wonder of flight and rejoice

That I am the Pilot of this Jet

My passengers are safe and sound

Thank you, Captain, she says, our eyes finally met

When my landing gears safely touch the ground

Resuscitation

Breathe child, came a voice from far

A river nymph or a distant Starr

Felt her breath on my lips, divine

As if I have tasted ancient wine

My chest began to rise and fall

She promised no harm would befall

Me, zapped with her electric touch

I though I had seriously drunk too much

How come a mortal was breathing fire

Into my mouth to rouse desire

Scorched with the burning sun

A punishment for sin I have not done

I saw the Elysian Fields and gods in white

Time to wake from this dream and fight

Breathe child, her voice was clear

A Very earthly form did appear

I opened my eyes to see the light

It was not the hereafter or godly might

That brought me back from the arms of death

It was a nurse with a very sweet breath

Cardiac Arrest

The hand of frost spreads stark and numb

To chill my heart, beating like a tired drum

To this stillness I will succumb

Feel the hand of fate caress and hum

The frost spreads chilling my bone

Like scattered petals the wind has blown

From the azure skies I was thrown

Earthward to embrace my throne

My journey ended against my will

The stars dimmed when I fell ill

My heart exploded and the world went still

Did not know a heartbeat could kill

Regulus Star

 A little prince story

Prince of the constellation Leo

Loved a beautiful princess

She lived in green paradise

Called planet earth

He traveled to her across the sky

across thousands of stars

He collected for her

From every galaxy

A star

to make her a bow

Arrows of the color of the sun

Eternal love story

Across the galaxies

drawn by rain and blood

When silence covered the earth

Dead ashes rained

And obscured the face of the moon

She was afraid

When she saw him

A lion and star-shine

She raised her bow

Let loose an arrow

That pierced his heart

The stars said goodbye

To their beloved prince

At midnight

He returned to heavens

to shine again

In the constellation Leo

Summoning

Vultures perched on the mountain's pass

Fiercely shook their ragged wings, alas

Gazing with hunger, at the brave

Soul waiting to tumble into the grave

My heart burst, scattered into splinters

Turned cold my last forty winters

What fate was mine, what glorious end

To make the mountains tremble and bend

Immortality won by blood and sword

I spread my bloodied wings and soared

Into a paradise that was your arms

Soul mended, and safe from harm

I summoned the light, and my wings glowed

On my final way to my blessed abode

Maxwell O'Reilly

I am “Icarus”

I clasped my homemade wings

To my back, and flew to kiss the Sun

Enraged, with one mighty swing

Of her beams, I became undone

The wax melted and my wings dissolved

Into thousand shards of molten fire

Of my great sins I was absolved

As I plunged straight into her pyre

Death breathed her burning kiss

On my soft glowing lips

As I plunged further into the abyss

The garish Sun was in total eclipse

Jealous that Death has claimed her love

She drowned herself in the sea

Never to rise again from above

Until I graciously set her free

To walk the path of the stars, to amaze

The stricken universe with our love and fame

There is magic in settings the world ablaze

And watching from the center of the flame

Maxwell O’Reilly

I am Hades

Let me proclaim to the world the wrath

That took my soul on its raging path

To roam the shores to pillage and plunder

To strike with fury, like god of thunder

To send to Hell abundance of souls

Weeping maidens non can console

A temple loomed on the horizon, afar

A Maiden, beautiful like a shining star

Pearls adorned her hair, black

Was I supposed to worship her or attack?

She appeared like a vision, a distant dream

Suddenly I heard the whole world scream

The earth shook and mountains rumbled

The temple shattered, its columns crumpled

I drew my sword and took a breath

I was face to face with the god of death

He took the maiden hostage to his whim

My vision began to blur and dim

Hades sneered and bellowed a laugh

He shook his head and pointed his staff

Mortal, do you defy my divine will

To claim the maiden as my prize and kill

I am rage, I declared, I am thunder

I charged and broke his Staff asunder

I stabbed his heart and Blood gushed

The Maiden whimpered and slightly blushed

She gazed at me dazed and gasped

What have you done? She rasped

The fallen hero in her trembling arms

She was rescued and safe from harm

The world went in flames, a horrendous blast

Then it dawned at me at last

The wound in my heart profusely bled

I am the god of death, now dead
