I battle death

 Every day I battle death

If I win, I write her a poem in remembrance

My world swayed and pitched

Darkness rolled over me

Engulfing my soul in bleakness

Like a felled bird with a broken wing I

 flew to your embrace

O 'Vain death

You are in every heartbeat

Every labored breath

Ragged breath escaped me

When our lips touched

Like fire

Warm in the perpetual chill

Of my broken heart

My pulse hammered

In my chest as

Your body melted into mine

In an embrace

A divine union

Of Fire and Ice

pain constricted my chest

a yawning chasm

and all was still

My spirit racing toward the stars

Thunder cracked in the sky

Announcing the end

Darkness had passed

No beat of a fierce and courageous heart

Now my spirit will roam among the stars
