Prince of Death

 The world became fire

It burned

Colors of dead flame

Smokeless ashes

Vengeance looms

I am one with the darkness

My dying howl shattered

Ebb and flow of my breath

The moon waned

and night waxed until the

Next bleak sunrise

My muffled scream

for salvation

Suffering ended

with suffocation

My breath froze in my lungs

There is no greater curse

than memory

Even a dream

would wake the monster

Lion of the night

His mane ablaze

The night stirs

Walls close in like a tomb

The monster rises

End my misery

Snuff out the flames

The lion roars

Triumph sizzled in my veins

Bleeding into the night

Raining death from the sky

I have summoned darkness

Now it's time to summon the light

The world came undone

Will my death prevent the Apocalypse

Tombstone

His blood in the stone seeps as vintage wine

Unto the altar, from his wounds divine

Libation poured from his bleeding heart

The burdens of life and despair depart

Pale shadow on the tombstone stone he cast

A parting gift, this offering was his last

Behind a tombstone he sinks to sleep

Darkness engulfs the Land and the Deep

Thunder roars heralding the raging storm

He appears in a translucent glowing form

Risen from a grave, soaring toward the sky

Wings of flames and jade colored eyes

Like an Eagle that soars toward the Sun

Glory which before him no mortal has was won

Spirit immortal, no tomb can ever bind

the endless glory for which he had pined

He has outsoared the shadow of darkest night

And that unrest which men miscall delight,

A heart once broken with pain and woe

Flickers in silence, transformed into glow

The mountains rumbled when they mourned

His passing and his tombstone adorned

With light from the heavens that shines

Like candles scattered around his shrine

Wild Eyes

When I look into your wild eyes

Sparks ignite and begin to fly

Your beauty, it was such

Mesmerizing, I longed for your touch

The kiss that brushed my lips

Desire flared, I lost my grip

My heart fluttered in its cage

Rising storms in my chest rage

You whisper your love in my ear

I gasp, stricken with awe and fear

Your love left me in a daze

All I have left are few miserable days

Before I depart this dreary world

In my arms you danced and twirled

The love we have known

Will leave you sad and forlorn

Could you continue this journey alone?

How could I ever for your tears atone

When every beat of my heart is a curse

I will leave you with just a verse

To remember me by each passing dawn

A silent prayer, strength to call upon

The memories we lovingly shared

To love so much I never dared

When it’s time to say goodbye

My arms change into wings and fly

Remember only that I now am free

Close the doors and throw away the keys

Trick of Fates

Winged Cupid, the child of love

Donned his arrows and hovered above

He shot his arrow into my heart

Happily, he was about to depart

Mission is done and love in the air

Why instead he felt my despair

The arrow was poisonous, a trick of Fate

Angry at my misdeed, they lay in wait

I have cut their spinning fateful thread

Changing Destiny, cheating death instead

Submit to Fate and humbly repent

Or face punishment and eternal torment

I laughed at the irony of their threat

No matter what I did, the time was set

To take my rebellious soul and imprison

Me in Death, She has ultimately risen

To embrace me and devour my soul

Cupid stepped in, Love was his goal

He shot Death in the heart with an arrow

Her heart lightened and danced like a sparrow

When our eyes met, I took my last breath

That is why I am in Love with Death

Awake Me Not

Awake Me not! surely, I take 'My' fill

Of deep eternal sleep forgetful of all ill

Awake Me not; I long for Rest

Adorn with twigs this empty nest

My wings are broken, my heart is still

With winter cold and piercing chill

To die, to sleep, to end this ache

Perchance to dream; to shock awake

This troubled soul will now rejoice

When I make my final choice

Slings and arrows of fortune strike

I vividly remember how it was like

It was but a sleep: no fear or pain

How I long for that again

When it’s the time to give up my breath

Do Not awake Me into ‘mechanical death’

The diseased heart will turn into blissful ice

The light I see beckoning Me does suffice

To draw Me closer to that blessed place

Where eternal joy will this pain replace

Heavens welcomes me with loving arm

Free of this Pain and safe from harm

No blinding veil to cloud my tired eye

Or bloody fever to silence my anguished cry

Awake Me not; I’m soaring high

And with ‘Peace’, I await to ‘Die’…

Farewell

Behold the Sad Hour of farewell looms

Casting its shadow over a glassy tomb

Fiery tears spilt; could not warm a heart

Cold with despair, longing to depart

His moonlight wings, pure with no stain

Unfurled and gently swept the lilac rain

What nature adored; Death took away

The mighty storm calmed to a gentle sway

Breathed her fury into his still chest

Stirred life into his bloodied nest

Twigs snapped when his heart began to beat

Warmed by the Sun amorous heat

Kissed his pale cheeks, thawed the frost

Hope survived when all was lost

Poison

I drunk the poison from her lips

My heart from my chest violently rips

Left earth a corpse, tumbled from the sky

Wounded bleeding with anguished cry

Fell into the arms of voiceless mountains

Icy waters splashed from fountains

A statue glistened in the afternoon Sun

The grave gate became undone

Death stepped in with a sly smile

A trophy to add to her grotesque pile

I stood staring at the statue, aghast

It was mirror image and I was the cast

Vultures hovered over my head

Screeching loudly; you are dead

With one last defiant move

All earthly doubts I will remove

I struck with vengeance at Death

Consuming her in my fiery breath

Death was dead, now I rise

A Phœnix from my ashy demise

Wings spread wide engulfing the Sun

Proud of what my heart had done

I have drunk the poison, now I am dead

Walked the path no one dares tread

I became the song of the wind when it blew

The wrath of gods and men I knew

To become a Phoenix in the Sun’s domain

To live forever and endure the Pain
