A Stray
In whispers of an alley, a stray dog's weary plight,
By cruelty and pain, shrouded in the night,
A heartless man's torment he endured,
Yet fate would change, a story reassured.
As time marched on, the abuser faced his fate,
Alone in darkness, a lonely, desolate state,
His heart, it faltered, an unexpected blow,
In that forsaken alley, where only echoes grow.
The stray dog, once broken, now a guiding light,
With kindness in his eyes, he saw the man's plight,
He dashed through the gloom, a savior in the haze,
To find some help, to mend these twisted ways.
Through winding streets and alleys, he led the way,
To save the life of one who'd lost his moral sway,
With courage unyielding, the dog's heart pure and strong,
He proved that even in darkness, goodness can belong.
In the end, the man survived, his health restored,
And the stray dog's kindness was its own reward,
For in that lonely alley, the Rescuer found,
The brave dog, a hero, with courage to astound.
In awe of the brave dog's courage and grace
His previous steps in the alley he did retrace
To adopt the hero, bring him to his destined place
A forever home, in love's glorious embrace.
