Ice Maiden

 Ice Maiden

In a land of frost and angry gods

Humans and the divine were at odds

Sacrifice was demanded to appease the rage

Torrent of snow and fire, non could assuage

A virgin was chosen, each decade

To calm the gods, in their icy glade.

Her heart so brave, her spirit cold,

A story of ancient legends told,

In icy shroud, she faced her fate,

To save her people from a dire state.

Beneath the moon's ethereal gleam,

She stepped into a frozen stream,

A sacrifice to calm the frost,

A maiden's life, forever lost.

The gods, they watched from skies above,

Accepting her sacrifice, with solemn love,

In frozen tears and icy breath,

She stilled the gods' impending death.

The ice maiden, pure and fair,

Became a legend in the frigid air,

A symbol of love and sacrifice,

In the land of snow and eternal ice.

Her memory lives on, through endless nights,

A beacon of hope, in northern lights,

The ice maiden, in the gods' embrace,

A symbol of peace, in a frozen place.
