A Rose

 In Downpour's Embrace

Amidst the deluge, I'm drenched, swept away

Petals sodden, my beauty in disarray

Torrents cascade, drowning my breath

I, a rose, lost in this watery death

Once cherished dew, now a flood of tears,

Weighted down, consumed by fears.

Each raindrop a torrent, a relentless pour,

My thorns dull, my colors obscure.

I suffocate in this downpour's veil

Longing for reprieve, a sunlit trail

Oh, for a breeze to dry my tears

Rescue my beauty, assuage my fears

In Drought's Embrace

In parched earth's clasp, I wither away

Thirsty roots, where life starts to decay.

Deserted by rain, my essence depleted

Fading petals, a once vibrant retreated

Each day, a gasp in this arid spell,

A plea for mercy where no droplets dwell.

Oh, for a drop to quench this thirst,

To revive my bloom, before I'm dispersed.

In Balance Embrace

In shared agony, we roses yearn,

For the balance of skies, for a turn.

One drowns, the other gasps for air,

Both seek salvation, both in despair.

Rain and drought, like darkness and light

We are at nature’s mercy, her might

Save us both before we crumble

Return us to vitality and life’s ensemble
