Aphrodite
(My first officer)
In the cockpit where mortals take to air,
Aphrodite by my side, a goddess fair.
Eros' blind arrow strikes with force
Emotions surge, a mystic, unexpected course
But in the cockpit's sacred, hallowed space,
Her beauty and her grace maintain their pace.
With arrows' touch, emotions start to rise,
Yet Aphrodite's wisdom never complies.
My first officer, so wise, a gentle stream,
Navigates through my raging passion’s gleam.
Embracing love's fervent and wild call,
While steering clear of chaos' looming thrall
As pilot and goddess bound and twined,
Amidst the storm, a bond well-defined.
Eros' whims, though tempting, he may try,
Aphrodite's poise and skillful rules defy.
She takes a professional and steadfast stand,
Breaking my heart with her clear command.
"Captain, watch out, we are losing speed
A stall will crash this metal steed
Disaster looms, flames threaten our name,
She urges, "Pitch nose down, reduce the bank!
Give more power," though my heart sank
Recovering swiftly from near disaster
My heart still beating faster and faster
I ascend to clouds beyond Eros' range,
Gazing at my first officer, that was strange.
Though my weaknesses were briefly exposed,
Her calm, composed demeanor juxtaposed.
"Great job, Captain," she calmly replied
"Enough of Blue Angels' games," she implied
Ashamed, I ponder my heart and brain's flight,
The sky, my true domain, holds honor bright.
Journeying onwards to our destination with pride
Captain and first officer, side by side
