Legacy
Upon the winds, where heroes roam
In skies where valor finds its home
In the vast expanse where eagles soar,
A Black Hawk danced, its engine roar.
With gallant heart, a pilot's creed,
He chased the sky's uncharted need.
With valor strong, and heart so true
Protected his crew, in skies so blue
A love for flight, a patriot's zeal,
His bravery forged a bond of steel.
Valor clad, in duty's call,
He shielded skies, stood proud and tall.
But fate, unkind, in battle's quest,
Took him away, to final rest.
Officers came, with reverence deep,
To honor a hero's steadfast leap.
To the Army wife, they gently tread,
With folded flag, in hues of red.
Symbol of sacrifice, a nation's pride,
In every fold, his legacy rides.
A hero's tale, in stars and stripes,
In her embrace, where sorrow swipes.
The flag unfurls, a story to tell,
Of bravery that forever shall dwell.
In this solemn moment, truth resounds clear,
A hero's spirit, forever near.
In the flag's embrace, his valor gleams,
A true American, his legacy beams
