The Sun smiled sweetly to the silent rain
It whispered in drops my cloud will remain
It stirred the grass with a youthful touch
A maiden beside the lagoon she loves so much
She sang to her companion, the paling Moon
Wildflowers swayed around her like undulating dune
It washed the meadow in silver light
Envied the Sun and replaced its might
The rain touched the maiden cheek
Like a tear drop on a snowy peak
Her beauty unrivalled by the majestic Sun
The shimmering lights around her spun
Nursing a bleeding heart I lay beside the lagoon
Hoping my death will not come so soon
I, the shepherd, who was maimed and gored
My heart was ripped by the god’s jealous sword
When her touch awakened my drifting mind
To sweet desires I had left behind
I gazed upon the maiden and surprisingly saw
The goddess of love in her beauty and awe
Aphrodite, my savior from the dim
Underworld
My wings fluttered wildly and unfurled
My Blood mingled with her tears to become a flower
Lamentations for the god of youth in his final hour
Garden sown with my seed to germinate eternal love
Aphrodite changed into a white ethereal dove
Together we flew above the clouds into a dream
The symbol of love pure as it seems
I the mortal gave my blood to revive
The myth of love to endure and survive
My death is a winter bleak and cold
Nature’s is wailing in misery foretold
When I return to nature, spring begins anew
The cycle of love and loss is what remains true
