Black of my dreams faded to grey
The bitter path wherein I stray
Destiny lay swift in my hands
My hair turned to frosty strands
Trickle of whispers ancient, old
Had turned my touch icy cold
My voice, agony cloaked in pride
Shadows feeding where blooms abide
A vortex erupts with every shuddering breath
Swallows me into the deep belly of death
Shadows spiraled into my soul like a dream
Awakened by my own dying scream
I see my life before me, veiled from afar
Like a maiden in white crowned in stars
Shadows creep to engulf her, twisted snarled
The beast inside me roared and snarled
Fearless, I cross the veil that splits apart
Life from death, shadows pierced my heart
She beckons me, I am chained to the past
I follow her, with troubled eyes, aghast
A Scent forgotten, magic perfumed the air
It gently woke me from my sweet despair
I saw the paddles pressed to my chest
The fairy nurse was doing her best
To revive the heart that was still with pain
That it might beat and quiver again
