A lonely howl I
heard in the wind
The Beast
snarled and widely grinned
Fangs as white
as ancient ivory tusk
Gleamed
brightly in the foggy dusk
I plummeted
from the sky as a stone
Grabbed with my
talons the fur and bone
Talons sharp
and gigantic claws
Clashed with
the snarling teeth and paws
Locked together
in a deadly embrace
Neither will
let go or face disgrace
Feathers flying
mangled with blood and fur
My life flashed
before me as if in a blur
Fate decided,
we joined in body and soul
Our destiny was
thus written in ancient scroll
The Beast and
the Bird are together entombed
Exalted with
Power or to Extinction doomed
