Apocalypse

 Apocalypse

The world is ablaze, it burned bright,

In colors of dead flame, devoid of light.

Vengeance loomed, one with the dark,

My dying howl, a shattered mark.

Ebb and flow of breath did cease,

The moon waned, night's somber peace.

Next bleak sunrise, in silence broke,

Soundless scream for salvation spoke.

Suffering ended in suffocation's grasp,

Breath froze in lungs, in memories clasp.

Even a dream, a monster's bane,

Lion of the night, ablaze in disdain.

The night stirs, tomb-like walls enclose,

The monster rises, end my woes.

Snuff out the flames, let the lion roar,

Triumph sizzled in my veins, darkness no more.

Bleeding into night, death from the sky,

Summoned darkness, now the light is nigh.

The world undone in apocalypse' might,

Will it survive, find dawn's first light?
