Despair
In my shattered heart, despair does dwell,
Where once I soared, now in sorrow's spell.
My wings of flight, cruelly torn away,
Left me grounded, an easy prey.
To despair, it claims its bitter prize,
Wings torn, and hope in its demise.
My children, stars in my darkest night,
Their absence leaves my world bereft of light.
In their laughter, my heart found its song,
Now, in silence, it aches and longs.
With each beat, my failing heart does weep,
In this vast landscape of loss, so deep.
Yet in despair's embrace, I find my solace, my art,
To mend my soul, rebuild my broken heart.
Each poem, a plea, a drop of tears,
My longing words, unheard for years.
To my children, I leave a memory behind,
Though cruel fate was unkind.
In my arms, they felt the joy
A precious girl and a wonderful boy
What they'll remember, I do not know,
When my absence had caused pain and woe.
