Athena's Love
My heart soared when I heard her name
My metal wings flew in search of fame
I reached for her through skies and lore
Her love aflame at my very core
Metal wings faltered under her gaze,
Guiding me through celestial maze.
Her wisdom, a beacon, her grace, a lure,
In her embrace, my flight insecure
But like Icarus, in eager chase,
Towards her arms, her celestial grace.
My mortal's heart with a goddess' light,
My fall ordained, in my final flight.
Athena's love, a pilot's dire fate,
My wings faltered, could not rotate
The skies were cruel, fate unblessed
Athena's love, my eternal quest.
In seeking her, I soared too high,
A mortal's love, a goddess' sky.
My fall not hubris, but love's decree,
Her love brought me to my knees
Her owl released, her blazing spear
Pierced my heart, pain did sear
My heart shattered, into a thousand stars
To adorn the sky, shine from afar
Her myth entwined in my flight's last call,
Athena's love, my eternal fall.
