Stages of Farewell
Denial
Denial whispers in the silent chambers of my heart,
As the diagnosis unfurls, tearing reality apart.
Terminal shadows cast, finality foreseen,
Refusing intervention, a stranger's heart within.
Anger
Anger surges, a tempest in my soul's stormy sea,
At fate's cruel hand, this unwanted decree.
A refusal to accept what destiny may impart,
Prefer the embrace of death over another's heart.
Bargaining
Bargaining echoes softly, a plea in the dark night,
For a quicker ending, a reprieve from this plight.
Yet, resistance to a transplant, a stranger's organ's beat,
Choosing the end, where life and death discreetly meet.
Depression
Depression, a cloak, draped in somber hue,
As reality's weight settles, bids adieu.
Refusing a donor’s gift, soul final rest
Preferring death’s tranquility over a foreign guest
Acceptance
Acceptance dawns, a serene twilight's glow,
Embracing the inevitable, though tears may flow.
Choosing the path, bidding life's final adieu,
Preferring death's solace, over a transplant's renew.
